It features squares of tiny flowers in relief that form a trellis pattern, all of which is entirely crocheted by hand in the spirit of Irish guipure lace, and which make for an overall lacy checkerboard with an elaborately scalloped edge. Irish guipure became so popular at the end of the 19th century that it quickly spread throughout Europe and became one of the most widely produced of laces. A one-of-a-kind and simply stunning piece!
