A simply marvelous and unusual motif of lilacs graces this pretty antique sheet loomed of a beautifully soft and supple ecru "fil de lin" linen. The embroidery, stitched in plumetis, bourdon and post point, is sumptuous as well as highly skilled in its execution. A central monogram "OB" is embroidered in a delicate and graceful diamond which is subtly incorporated into the lilac design, and six exceptional drawn thread rows of embroidery lace the entire sheet return. This beautiful piece likely dates from the early 20th century and is in new, never used and impeccable condition. Hand-hemmed. Dimensions: 126 x 92.5in
