A very lovely and exquisitely embroidered pure white "fil de lin" linen pillow sham with a large central monogram "JM." This pretty sham has a two inch fancy scalloped border with the finest of tiny embroidered flowers throughout. Clusters of the same delicate flowers decorate a handsome monogram which is expertly embroidered in an important relief of bourdon with accents in tige and very fine post point. This sham is in perfect condition and likely dates from the very early part of the 20th century. It closes at the back with seven mother-of-pearl buttons. Dimensions: interior 24 x 22in. exterior 28 x 26in.
