A precious little envelope loomed of a very fine and silky, pure white "fil de lin" linen. This darling piece was certainly created to store a dainty nightgown or some precious embroidered handkerchiefs. Adorned in its four corners with flowers in Renaissance embroidery, it features a beautiful central insert of tulle with a stunnigly embroidered butterfly in its center. A fancy crossed drawn thread row frames the three sides and a delicate bobbin lace border finished the piece. Perfect condition save for a pale pink trace, visible in the last photo, and a pinprick in the tulle - barely visible. Early 20th c. Dimensions: 16 x 12.5in.
