A superb handkerchief in ecru linen batiste with a large and very elaborately decorated border in embroidered tulle. This beautiful piece dates from the late 19th century and is a magnificent showpiece of craftsmanship. The central portion in batiste is in good condition save for a single tiny pinhole and the tulle border shows several tiny flaws, visible in the photos. Overall, however, it remains a very beautiful handkerchief with a rather spectacular effect. Dimensions: 16 x15.5in.
