An elegantly simple service of twelve very large napkins loomed of a pure white blend of linen and cotton in a weave known in France as "granite" due to its slightly pebbly surface texture. These pretty napkins have a beautifully interlaced monogram, "AB," embroidered in one corner in bourdon and post point. A fancy crossed drawn thread row creates an innner frame while a tiny hemstitch defines the border. This service likely dates from the mid 20th century and is in impeccable condition. Dimensions: 34 x 26.5in.
