A marvelous service of ten large ceremonial napkins traditionally used to celebrate the hunt. This lovely service is loomed of a medium weight pure white linen damask with a motif of hunters, dogs and flying ducks all depicted in woodland scenes. A central monogram, "FR," is finely embroidered in bourdon and post point and framed in an oval floral medallion. Likely dating from the 1940's when it was the style to turn the hems of table linens upward and thereby create a border, this service is in impeccable unused condition. Dimensions: 31.5 x 23.5in.
