Exquisite ensemble of a sheet and two pillow shams loomed of a very tightly woven but light and airy warm white "fil de lin" linen. A very large monogram, "LB" embroidered in an important relief of bourdon and decorated with an abundant spray of delicate buds and leaves adorns the center of the sheet as well as smaller versions in the corner of each sham. A "river" of very fine drawn thread embroidery, nine rows in all, runs the length of the sheet return as well as a full 40 inches of the height of each side. These linens, purchased along with other linens bearing the same monogram and from the same estate, likely have aristocratic provenance as numerous pieces were importantly embroidered with a ducal crown.
