I would be hard pressed to find a more elegant set of kitchen towels! This beautiful service of four large towels is loomed of a crisp and very refined "fil de lin" pale dove grey linen, at once weighty and exeedingly fine. Each bears a tiny monogram, "TA," embroidered in red cross stitch in one corner as well as a single stripe down each side woven in relief. The hems are hand stitched with practically invisible points. Exceptionally fine dish towels of this kind were usually reserved as "essuie verres," the towels that were used to dry fine crystal glasses. Likely dating from the early to mid 20th century, this service is in impeccable condition. Please note: although there are only three towels pictured, it IS in fact a set of four!
